Student Project
Initiated in 2005 by American author and LGBTQ activist, Dan Savage, Hump! is an annual film festival that showcases home-movie erotica, amateur sex cinema, and locally produced pornography. Films are screened in a theatre, rated by audience members, and filmmakers are presented with awards. For many filmmakers, this event is the first and only time their film is shown, giving the audience an exclusive experience. Hump! Film Festival is an event that defies the conventions of the porn industry to celebrate creative sexual expression for all body types, ages, colors, sexualities, genders, kinks, and fetishes. Event-goers and filmmakers are united by a shared spirit of sex positivity!
The project goal was to reconceptualize the visual language of the event for the year 2022 to create a unique graphic style that reflects the brand's personality. Hump! Film Festival is a distinct brand that differentiates itself through its commitment to open sexual expression and body positivity paired with humor and wit. With these differentiating factors in mind, I created a lettermark and supporting assets that honor diversity in body type, kink, gender, and skin color while also representing the fun and unrestrained aspects of the brand. It's a freaky deaky film fest for all!
