Student Project
Supernova is a digital animation festival initiative led by Denver Digerati, leaders in the field of art integration with public LED and other display formats that position motion art and animation as a form of creative engagement. They are dedicated to educating students and the public on the rapidly evolving field of tech-based tools and how they can be wielded to create awe-inspiring art.
The final motion piece was on display on a unique LED screen located at 16th Street and Arapahoe in Downtown Denver, Colorado. This unique screen wraps around a corner and has two continuous faces (420 x 1720 pixels!). The project parameters were straightforward; create a short, eye-catching motion piece that communicates a feeling or emotion. In "Differences", I explore moving type using a powerful quote from Jared Polis, the first openly gay governor in the United States. The piece features bright eye-catching colors, bold type, and quick, bouncing movement.
